Retina Detachment Surgery.
When the retina is detached from its normal position in the back of the eye, this is
often referred to as retina detachment. Through the optic nerve, the retina transmits
visual images to the brain. When detachment occurs, your ability to see things
becomes blurred. A detached retina is a medical condition that must be treated to
prevent vision loss.

Vitrectomy:
A small incision is made in the white part of the eye (sclera) and the
vitreous gel is removed. To restore the vitreous and to move the retina into place, a
gas is injected into the eye.
Scleral Buckle:
The doctor uses a synthetic band to push the retina against the wall
of the eye, while the eye is attached to the band.
Pneumatic Retinopexy:
It involves the injection of a gas bubble into the eye which
presses the detached retina against the wall of the eye.
Laser Surgery:
In laser surgery, a tear in the retina is "sewn" into place, to ensure
that no fluid is moving beneath the eye.
Cryopexy:
Also known as freezing treatment, involves freezing and screening the
retinal tear region to help reattachment.
