Cataract Surgery
A cataract is a progressive clouding, below the pupil, of the normal lens of the eye.
The cataract surgery involves removing and replacing the cloudy lens with a clear
synthetic implant known as intraocular lens (IOL). At Kabera, we choose to focus on
the power of IOL to reduce the dependency on your glasses after surgery and in
some cases eliminate the need of it altogether.
Cataract Treatment at Kabera
At Kabera, we are proud to offer a personalized approach to cataract surgery
tailored to your needs and your lifestyle for every patient within budget.
We offer two different treatment procedures, both involves surgery.
1. Standard Cataract Surgery
Our standard cataract surgery involves removal of natural lens and replacing it with a
synthetic intraocular lens (IOL).
Procedure
The standard cataract surgery is performed under local anaesthetic. A synthetic
intraocular lens (IOL) is replaced for a lifetime by quickly removing the Cloudy Lens
(cataract). This treatment provides good distance vision, but you would still depend
on reading glasses after the procedure. The treatment lens is usually a single-focal
lens.
2. Refractive Cataract Surgery
At Kabera, we also offer a more advanced type of cataract surgery, i.e refractive
cataract surgery using similar techniques and replacing the natural lens by a
permanently advanced multi-focal lens. Multi-focal lenses can help fix refractive
errors like short-sightedness and long-sightedness, so you can have a better vision
than before the cataract. This procedure uses state of the art laser technology for
femtoseconds laser technology. This could significantly reduce or even eradicate
your dependency on glasses or contact lenses.
Procedure
This procedure usually takes only 20 minutes per eye. If you wear read, distance or
close-sight glasses or wear bifocal, varifocal or multifocal contact lenses, refractive
cataract surgery may be the answer.
During your treatment, from initial consultations and surgery to aftercare after
surgery, you will see the same surgeon. This ensures the best possible level of care.
In addition, we use the most innovative available technology to ensure the best
results.
